Farnham Town broke the 90-point mark in the Combined Counties Premier Division South with an emphatic 5-0 win at home to Fleet Town.
Goals from Adam Liddle, Dean Rule (2), Harry Cooksley and Shamal Edwards gave the league champions the three points in front of a crowd of 323 at The Memorial Ground.
Farnham started brightly and deservedly took the lead in the 14th minute. Rule showed excellent feet on the right to beat his man and drilled the ball across goal for Liddle to score from close range and register Town’s 150th goal of the season in all competitions.
The second goal arrived four minutes later in spectacular style. Rule received the ball in the box and took a touch before lashing the ball into the top right-hand corner.
Town scored their third goal on 29 minutes when Harry Cooksley’s superb free kick from 30 yards out found the left-hand corner of the net.
Farnham had an excellent chance to score a fourth in the 39th minute when Owen Dean stood the ball up to the back post, but Rule’s close-range header was saved by Fleet keeper Filip Chalupniczak.
Town continued to push for more goals after the break and duly scored their fourth when Rule scored from a few yards out on 56 minutes.
The fifth goal arrived in the 70th minute. Liddle’s free kick was parried by Chalupniczak and Edwards confidently swept the rebound into the back of the net.
Next up for Farnham is a home game against AFC Croydon Athletic in the Surrey Senior Cup on Thursday evening (7.45pm).
