A council department has served up some good news as plans for a new farm shop in Bordon have been approved.
Planners dismissed slight concerns over parking and access in granting permission for a small retail shop next to Bordon & Oakhanger Social Club.
The single-storey shed will be constructed on a grassy patch to the right of the Bolley Avenue club and will contain a small kitchen, stock room and office in addition to retail space.
The wood-cladded building has been designed to compliment the adjacent pavilion and the surrounding new estate.
East Hampshire District Council are happy with the parking arrangements put forward by the Whitehill & Bordon Development Company and feel the building will not create “retail pressures” on the new town centre or existing retailers in W&B.
But the operator will be required to monitor the area to prevent vehicles from parking on the surrounding estate roads.
