Have you ever fancied sitting behind the wheel of a classic car? Something sporty, perhaps?

Well, now’s your chance as a “car display with a difference” will be one of the highlights when Lindford holds its annual summer fete this weekend.

Visitors will be allowed to pose in the front seat of a variety of historic competition and race cars in return for a donation to the Hampshire & IoW Air Ambulance (HIOWAA).

But there’s so much more to enjoy with organisers Lindford Parish Council and their associates determined to give villagers an event to remember to make up for months of disruption.

Indeed, SSEN have made a contribution towards the event with activities taking place around the village hall and Sycamore Road from midday to 4pm this Saturday, July 6.

Highlights will include a display by DKK Dance Academy, magic shows by Jared Gale, a “wooftastic” dog show and live music from No Small Thing.

Visitors can expect numerous stalls, local produce to buy, a bouncy castle, face painting and visit by The Back Yard Bug Experience and Hollybrook Mobile Farm.

No-one should go hungry or thirsty with a BBQ and numerous food and drink options available during the afternoon.

Residents are encouraged to walk to the fete but disabled spaces will be available at the hall with main parking on Pear Tree Green. Residents are encouraged to make a donation to the HIOWAA as a thank you to organisers, so please bring plenty of change if you’re coming along.
