Frensham RBL Bowls Club held their annual Rita Plant Commemorative Trophy match, with eight triples competing for the glass trophy in memory of Rita.

Rita was a long-serving member of the club who died in 2016. Her family were represented by her daughter Sarah, son-in-law Kevin, grandsons Elliot and Samuel and her husband Gordon, who all took part – Gordon and Sarah reached the semi-finals with club captain Ray Bridger.

The afternoon started with a ‘Spider’ for a bottle of Prosecco, which was won by Andy Robinson.

The winning team were Team H, comprising Sue Haw, Bert Pharo and Jean Wiltshire. They beat Team E, comprising Geoff Quick, Roger Pearce and Wendy Edwards, in the final. The trophy was presented by Gordon Plant.

A tea and raffle followed, which raised £196 for Macmillan Nurses.
