VOLUNTEERS helped the 1st Bordon Scout Group decorate its new home at the Old Youth Club on Kildare Road.
Scout group chairman Kay Bush said: “The group is humbled by the enormous support of local firms, decorators and individuals who supported the day.
“In particular, we would like to thank the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company, in particular Naomi Metcalfe, for the opportunity to have safe and secure accommodation for the foreseeable future, and Richard Young, from Intex Decorating (Lindford), who painted two rooms prior to the DIY day, donated paint, and then on the day painted the ceilings of the building, while trying to dodge Cubs and Scouts armed with paint brushes.
“We would also like to send our thanks to Coomers of Bordon (Woolmer Way Trading Estate), and Altis of Lindford (Liphook Road) for its generous donations of paints and accessories.
“Tesco (High Street) and Pizza Time (Petersfield Road) of Bordon kept all the workers going with tea, coffee, biscuits and lunchtime pizzas.
“After facing possible closure earlier this year, the group is very lucky to have this new venue leased from the Whitehill and Bordon Regeneration Company and we are looking forward to a new chapter in its 104th year.
“The 1st Bordon Scouts is searching for ways in which our young Cubs and Scouts can aid and assist our community.”
