THE ACHIEVEMENTS of around 50 children have been celebrated during an assembly at Woodlea Primary School in Whitehill.
It was headteacher Joanna Mumford’s first bi-annual celebration assembly and external visitors were invited to present awards, including town mayor, Councillor Catherine Clark, leader of Whitehill Town Council, Cllr Andy Tree, and community champion at Tesco, Fi Edwards.
Parent Blodwen Strachan said the event “felt like a proper award ceremony, a real sense of occasion”. She added she was “struck by how tailored the awards and speeches were to the individual children receiving them”.
