There were celebrations at Oakmoor School in Bordon on Thursday morning as students picked up some fantastic sets of GCSE results.
The school gates were brimming with anxious smiley faces as the Year 11 students headed in to find out their grades after enjoying a well-deserved summer break.
Tilly Henderson was delighted to have passed all of her GCSEs, and was particularly pleased with her overall science mark, which was her favourite subject.
She is now continuing her studies at Sparsholt College in Winchester, where she will undertake an animal management course.
“All the teachers here at Oakmoor are really nice and supportive,” she said.
Leon Cosgrove gained an outstanding two distinction*s in BTEC Sport and BTEC Construction. He is now looking forward to his future and reflected: “I really enjoyed my time at Oakmoor, and PE was definitely my favourite subject by far.”
And praise for the PE department was also shared by fellow classmate Tegan Kinch, who is now going on to a BTEC diploma in sport at Alton College after succeeding in her GCSEs.
She said: “I loved the PE department here, as well as the teaching assistants. Coming to the end of year 11 was stressful, but everyone stuck together throughout. I wouldn’t have wanted to do my GCSEs anywhere else.”
The celebrations were also shared by the teaching staff at the school.
Assistant headteacher, Adam Beere shared his happiness, commenting: “We’re really proud of all the hard work put in by the students, particularly under some challenging circumstances over the past two years. We wish them all the best with their futures.”
