A shopping centre is getting a much-needed boost as a discount retailer is coming to Bordon.
The rumour mill has gone into overdrive in recent weeks with excited chatter about B&M moving into the former Wilko unit in The Forest Centre.
The retailer has confirmed the news and expects to open on June 29, with an application for a premises licence being made to EHDC.
Forest Centre shoppers who spoke to the Herald on Tuesday welcomed the news with Lindford resident, Clare Dixon, saying B&M’s arrival is “just what Bordon needs”.
The announcement makes a welcome change given the ongoing frustrations over the lack of positive development in Whitehill & Bordon with questions over the progress of its new town centre and supermarket.
There’s also uncertainty about Lidl’s future in The Forest Centre as the retailer appears keen to relocate to a larger site in the town, although it’s unlikely to move in the near future.
