The dust has barely settled on Hogmoor Inclosure as the organisers of a family event take a well-earned breather.

But a date has already been circled on the calendar for next year’s Whitehill & Bordon Community Day with the adrenaline still pumping after this year’s show.

Interest in the annual event shows no sign of waning with more than 5,000 people attending this year’s shindig off Hogmoor Road.

And it’s become a real local highlight for local people, with most visitors to the July 21 event coming from Whitehill & Bordon according to survey results.

The free event organised by the Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust is the biggest in the group’s calendar and boasted a packed programme of entertainment, craft, street food, drink and activities.

Attractions included a climbing wall, Punch & Judy show, barrel rides, donkeys and wandering dinosaurs courtesy of Jurassic Coast.

Visitors also perused a variety of craft stalls while live music from local bands and singers who work with Aly Duff of the Backbeat Collective entertained the crowds.

Sian Manning was thrilled with the day’s success with July 13 being confirmed as the date for next year’s show.

“This year’s event has set the bar for next year so we’ll have to deliver again,” said the community development officer.

“If you want to be involved then please get in touch.”

The WBCT has thanked volunteers, Y+ and the Woolmer Lions for their help with the latter two groups helping with the set-up and manning the car park.
