Bordon Police will soon be saying ‘ello ‘ello to new neighbours as plans to convert an office block into flats have been approved.

A Hawkley couple have been given the green light by East Hampshire District Council to convert Units 5 and 6 of Highview Business Centre into six flats.

The flats could be the safest in East Hampshire as the police will quite literally be next door neighbours.

The units off Bordon High Street have been empty for nearly three years with no interest shown during a sustained marketing campaign.

The council received one letter of support and two objections with concerns about parking and refuse collection arrangements being ultimately dismissed.

The council’s economic development officer raised no objection with EHDC granting approval.

“The proposal is considered to be acceptable as it would not detract from the character and appearance of the area,” states the EHDC Officer Report.
