Farnham Town marked receiving the Isthmian League South Central Division title in style with a 2-0 win at home to Kingstonian.

Second-half goals from Harry Cooksley and Great Evans gave the champions the three points in front of a crowd of 1,072 at The Memorial Ground.

The hosts created the first chance of the afternoon in the third minute when Jack Dean’s cross from the right was nodded goalwards by Darryl Sanders, but Sanders’ header went just wide of the right-hand post.

The visitors created their first chance on eight minutes when Junior Nkeng’s effort at the near post flashed over the bar.

Town went close in the 13th minute when Cooksley’s corner picked out Ryan Kinnane, but the Farnham skipper’s header was well blocked on the line.

Farnham keeper Zaki Oualah was called into action on 29 minutes when he got down low to make a smart save from Reuben Duncan’s effort from the edge of the box.

Town won a free kick in a promising position in the 37th minute, but Sanders curled his effort well over the bar.

The hosts went close to taking the lead on 43 minutes when Sanders played the ball inside to Sam De St Croix, who looked to pick out the bottom left-hand corner but saw his effort hit the post before it was cleared to safety.

The visitors created the first chance of the second half in the 51st minute when Nkeng drove forward from midfield and hit a low shot from the edge of the box which was easily held by Oualah.

Town broke the deadlock in spectacular style on 56 minutes when Cooksley unleashed a thunderbolt from outside the box which flew past Kingstonian keeper Liam Allen into the top left-hand corner of the net.

Farnham boss Paul Johnson introduced fresh legs in the 62nd minute, with Ben Purcell and Evans replacing Mark Waters and De St Croix.

Sanders nearly scored a superb individual goal on 70 minutes when he flicked the ball past a Kingstonian defender before striking his effort against the crossbar.

Johnson made his third change a minute later, with Kai Tanner replacing Adam Liddle.

Town went close to getting a second in the 75th minute when Jordan Gallagher played a clever one-two with Sanders and was through on goal, but Gallagher’s effort was superbly blocked by Allen.

The hosts went close again on 84 minutes when Cooksley’s corner picked out Jordan Stepney, who headed just wide at the near post.

Johnson then made his second double change of the afternoon, with Max Meaton and Gio Palmer replacing Dean and Sanders.

Town doubled their advantage in the 86th minute when Tanner got on the end of Oualah’s long ball over the top and found Evans, who found the bottom right-hand corner of the net after Allen had saved his initial effort.

Farnham comfortably managed the last few minutes of the game to pick up the three points before receiving the league trophy after the match.
