Farnham town councillor Alan Earwaker has formally opened the newly-landscaped area around the refurbished clubhouse at Badshot Lea Tennis Club.

The event was attended by many old and new club members, as well as supporters of the recent fundraising campaign. Badshot Lea Tennis Club chairman Gillian Hyman welcomed everyone in attendance and thanked everyone for their support and hard work over the past few months to help achieve the club’s completion of the paved area and installation of cycle stands to create a safe and welcoming environment.

Councillor Alan Earwaker congratulated Gillian and the club on an excellent job of improving facilities over the past couple of years for the local community. Recent improvements have included floodlights, a refurbished fully-accessible clubhouse and now the paved area for socialising and watching the tennis. All the work was carried out by club members with help from the community and financial support from a Farnham Town Council grant towards the work. Kebur Garden Materials provided the materials with a community discount.

Future plans for Badshot Lea Tennis Club include major fundraising efforts for court resurfacing in 2026-27.

Badshot Lea Tennis Club welcome people of all ages to come along and give tennis a try. The club runs adult and junior coaching sessions. Club sessions are held on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Membership is available.
