The lights went out – literally for two teams – on the Farnham & District Billiards & Snooker League season last week with the final round of matches in Division Three.
With the title and final promotion spaces confirmed the week before, it was all about finishing the season on a high note with Bordon B making the biggest statement.
They followed a whitewash of Sovereign D with a 4-0 away win to Frensham D to clinch the runners-up trophy – they could be ones to watch in Division Two next season.
Champions Alton Cons A had Chris Schiel to thank as his 49-17 final frame win against Derek Allwood earned them a draw against Traco F, while third-placed Bourne A finished their promotion season with a 3-1 win at Lindford D.
Rowledge C also won by the same scoreline at Bordon A, but spare a thought for Traco C, the only league team to go the season without a win.
They were 2-1 down and midway through their last frame of the season when the lights went off, with the power not coming back until close to midnight.
The frame was not played, depriving the hosts of a possible draw and Lindford C’s Paul Coombes of team bragging rights.
Until next year.
