Churt Village Fete returns for another fun-filled afternoon and this year’s theme is all about the 1970s!

The fete will be held at the village’s recreation ground on Saturday, June 8 from 2pm to 5pm with something for the whole family.

Start off the day by dressing up for the 1970s theme and see if you win the ‘best dressed’ competition or enter your beloved pooch into the dog show and they could be named ‘most handsome dog’.

On social media, fete organisers said: “Celebrating 50 years since we first started in 1974, we want to bring it back to the groovy times with some peace, love and platform shoes!”

Why not join St John’s Country Dancing on the dance floor or saddle a bucking bronco if you are brave enough to have a go. Once you have caught your breath take some time to look at the variety of stalls on offer.

Including young entrepreneurs, charities, second-hand clothes and toys, art, handmade gifts and more. Show your support for Ukraine at the Ukrainian stall and get your hair braided into a range of different styles while sampling some of their traditional baked goods.

See if you get lucky at the silent auction with some great items up for grabs including a family ticket to the sculpture park or take a chance and see if you win in the tombola.

Alongside food, drink and other activities the day is sure to leave a smile on your face.
