The Herald is appealing for readers' help to raise £2,400 to help send Farnham Heath End School’s heroic history team to the European championships in Barcelona.

Farnham Heath End School (FHES) students made history last week by winning the International History Bowl and Bee competition held in London.

The team, consisting of six students from Years 7 to 9, emerged victorious over some of the most prestigious schools in the country, including Eton College, and secured their place in the European finals set to take place in Barcelona in June.

However, the cost of travel expenses, including flights, hotel, competition entry, meals and transfers for the seven pupils and two teachers, is approximately £5,700. Despite contributions by parents, an anonymous donor and the school’s support, an additional £2,400 is still required to cover the cost of the trip.

The Herald could not let these talented and dedicated students miss out on this opportunity because of financial constraints.

So we are appealing for readers to come together and support these bright young minds to showcase their historical knowledge and skills on an international stage.

To this end, we are launching a fundraising campaign to raise the remaining £2,400 required for the trip to Barcelona.

We urge everyone in the community to contribute whatever they can, no matter how small, to make this dream a reality for the students of FHES.

These students are an inspiration to their peers and us all. By supporting them, we are not only investing in their future and nurturing the talent of tomorrow, but sending a message to children across the area that anything is possible if they apply themselves.

Donations can be made through the FHES GoFundMe web page https://gofund.me/0e7e65df

Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in sending these students to Barcelona to represent their school and their country. Let us come together and make this opportunity a reality for them!
