Petersfield students and their teachers took part in a sporting challenge to raise money for BBC Children in Need.
The Petersfield School (TPS) took part in a non-stop 14 hour sportathon, that ran from 7am to 9pm on Thursday, December 5.
The students took part through their PE lessons for the day, taking on the PE department at different sports, and joining in as huge dance groups and raised more than £1,200.
Speaking to Julie Butler from Petersfield’s Shine Radio, Dan Scutt, head of PE, said: “We’ve covered 14 different sports and we probably started with a slightly too high intensity level this morning.
“We started with American football as the first thing at seven o’clock this morning, followed by handball. Then a very challenging session of dodgeball against some of our year 10 students. By the time we got to about nine o’clock, 10 o’clock, we were feeling quite tired already.”
For the dancing, a projector was put on and everyone tried to replicate the dances moves and it involved group and partner dances.
Petersfield Town FC joined in the evening and invited staff and students to its training session in the hall. The football was followed by rock climbing and spikeball to finish a very long but rewarding day.
Mr Scutt added: “We would like to thank everyone that supported us on the day and raised money for such a worthy cause.
“With a special mention to Chinwags, Three Cuts, Burger and Tap and Louleighs Sweet treats for keeping us fed throughout the day. We look forward to next year where we aim to push ourselves even harder."
A TPS spokesperson commented: “We were blown away with the generosity of the TPS community at this time of year and also the well wishes received throughout the day.”
