GOOD weather attracted large crowds to Sunday's annual apple-tasting day at the Blackmoor Estate, with visitors keen to sample the apples and pears on offer.
This year, the stalls raised £9,000 for good causes in the area, including the Alton Arthritis Trust, Bordon's Chase Community Hospital, Hospice Services at Home TLC, the Woolmer Forest Lions, St Matthew's Church and St Matthew's Primary School, both in Blackmoor.
Wildlife charities including Amphibian and Reptile Conservation and Butterfly Conservation and rural craft demonstrators put on informative displays, and the mystery-apple identifiers were kept busy throughout the day.
William Wolmer, managing director of the Blackmoor Estate, said: "It's great that apple tasting has become such a popular fixture in the calendar. We even had people coming from Yorkshire.
"Thank you to all the volunteers who give up their time for apple cutting."
