A 17-year-old boy from Bordon has been arrested on suspicion of raping a teenage girl in the Chalet Hill area of town.
Specialist police teams carried out enquiries and took part in a search operation on Friday morning (September 27).
They received a report just after 9am that a teenage girl had been raped in the area by a man she did not know.
The girl is being supported by specialist officers while the suspect remains in police custody at the time of writing.
A helicopter was involved in the operation while entry to local beauty spots like Jubilee Park and Deadwater was restricted for much of the morning. Oakmoor School also sent SMS messages to parents to assure them of student safety and have been liaising with police.
Inspector Neal Harvey said: “We fully appreciate how concerning this incident will be to residents of Bordon.
“I want to reassure you that our Eastern Operation Amberstone unit, which is the team specialising in rape and serious sexual assault investigations, has been following numerous lines of enquiry in order to establish the circumstances of what has happened.
“We remain in the local area conducting enquiries today and will be carrying out dedicated patrols. If anyone has any concerns, please speak to patrolling officers.”
