A MAN has pleaded guilty to two counts of malicious communications following a siege in Selborne.

Anthony Betsworth, 52, of Selborne Road, Selborne, appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court last Friday and was remanded on conditional bail.

He is due before magistrates on April 5 to hear pre-sentence reports.

Armed police were called to the scene just before 1am last Wednesday. The B3006 was closed from its junction with the A31 at Alton and the A3 at Greatham. Selborne Primary School was also closed.
