Residents of Shannon Court Care Home enjoyed a tea party under the summer sun with music by The Satin Dollz Trio on Sunday, June 26.
The Satin Dollz songs and dance routines included classics from the thirties and forties which the home hopes will have triggered nostalgic memories for the elderly residents.
The event was organised and funded by the Association of the Friends of Shannon Court, formed in 1994 by a group of local Freemasons to provide additional funds for the comfort and benefit of the residents, as well as the general upkeep of Shannon Court Care Home.
The £6,000 cost of staging Sunday’s garden party, with free entry, plus complimentary food and entertainment, was donated by the Friends of Shannon Court.
Ian Chandler, head of Surrey Freemasons, said: “It is heart-warming to see local Freemasons coming together to provide community events like this, with the simple purpose of giving-back and helping others.”
