The Reverend Patrick O’Ferrall, who has ministered at St Andrew’s Church in Farnham, the churches of The Bourne Parish and All Saints’ Church, Tilford, has officiated at his final service at Tilford.
At the age of 87, this seems an entirely reasonable decision, but he and his wife, Wendy, will be much missed by the various congregations.
Fortunately, the O’Ferralls continue to live in Farnham and will remain as members of the church.
After a very successful career in the oil industry and shipping, concluding as chairman of Lloyds’ Register, Patrick was ordained as a non-stipendiary priest in 2001, initially serving in the parish of Godalming.
In 2012 he and Wendy moved to Farnham where Patrick worked firstly at St Andrew’s and later in The Bourne and Tilford.
A reception was held at Tilford after the final service and many members of the other parishes travelled to the village to support and thank Patrick and Wendy.
