Tens of thousands of people of all ages from all across the UK gathered on Saturday in central London for the National Rejoin March.
This was the second of what has now become an annual event. And the weather was glorious.
Our local South West Surrey European Movement group went along, with people from Farnham, Haslemere, East Hampshire and Guildford. We are a pro-Europe group with members from all across our area.
Our members were right at the heart of the action. Marching close to the front, the atmosphere was resilient and jubilant and, as ever, positive and peaceful. From pro-EU songs, to street dancers along the march, this was followed by excellent speeches at packed Parliament Square.
We heard how we are very much welcome back into Europe, and how Brexit has impacted us as a country.
All united in our wish for our children and young people to have the opportunity to travel, work and love freely across Europe again.
Speakers emphasised all we have lost as a result of Brexit, in particular Erasmus+ for the next generation. Everyone was united in their determination to rejoin the EU, to return to prosperity and to see a Europe where the UK is influential in fulfilling a better Europe, one which values everyone and promotes effective environmental stewardship.
And that we can only be that guiding force, as part of it.

Let’s be united in our steps back to rejoining the EU and taking back our protections and freedoms.
