Bramshott and Liphook’s Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group will share its draft Neighbourhood Development Plan next month, setting out how it thinks the parish should develop in coming years.
Following a series of limited consultations in 2022 and this January, the village plan’s steering group will next launch a “major” consultation process to engage the wider parish community at two open events on March 22 and 25 at the Liphook Millennium Centre.
Peter Stanley, executive officer of Bramshott & Liphook Parish Council, said: “The event is still being planned and more detail will follow.”
The Bramshott and Liphook Neighbourhood Development Plan aims to enhance the parish by listening to the community's needs and desires for the future development of the area.
The designated area for the parish plan is split between two planning authorities, East Hampshire District Council and the South Downs National Park Authority.
A Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) is a way for communities to shape development in their area through the production of a local planning policy document.
The benefits of an NDP also include increased Community Infrastructure Levy contributions for the parish to spend on its own choice of infrastructure projects.
The plan's steering group is the core team of volunteers who guide the process.
The current stage of the NDP is further assessment of sites to identify which ones could bring the necessary facilities and development to the parish, to meet government-set housing targets.
The timeframe for the finalisation of the NDP is still being determined and is subject to change with government legislation.
