A theatre group from Petersfield is going above and beyond with its first autumn production since lockdown.
Petersfield Youth Theatre will make their long-awaited return to the Festival Hall stage next week with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Theatre-goers can expect a truly scrumptious production with a live band and a talented young cast of 90 members.
And that’s not forgetting the famous flying car with the curtain rising on the spectacular production next Thursday.
Audiences will be invited to join inventor Caractacut Potts as he restores a broken-down racing car with the help of his children, Jeremy and Jemima.
Joined by the delightful Truly Scrumptious, the family discover the car has magical powers and embark on a fantastical adventure to Vulgaria.
But the Baron, Baroness and Child-catcher have other plans and do everything they can to scupper their adventure.
You know how it ends and fans of the magnificent 1968 film will find much to love with a lavish score and faithful renditions of Hushabye Mountain, Toot Sweet and the title song.
Fans will have plenty of chances to see this soaring production with seven evening performances and three matinees over two weekends.
