Visitors can will also find sustainable products and fascinating stalls at the free event organised by Petersfield Climate Action Network (PeCAN) and Petersfield Town Council with extra funding from the district council.

There’s plenty for children as young environmentalists can make a climate change canary, learn about hedgehogs, make a hedgerow and contribute towards a barn own college.

Face-painting, a children’s activity marquee and performance by the Woodland Theatre Company are also planned on a day of fun for all the family.

Visitors of all ages can learn how to support wildlife, give nature a boost locally, and find out ways to make their homes and energy supply more sustainable.

There will also be information about active travel, electric vehicles and community energy with a range of local groups and companies having stalls at the event – which will even be powered by batteries charged with renewable energy.

Visitors can expect plenty of street food options from the likes of Crepe Britain, Florio’s Pizza and Roots Vegam Food among others and live music from 10.30am with SOS From The Kids getting the party started.

The winners of PeCAN’s photography and writing competitions will also be announced in the music tent at 2pm.

Organisers have encouraged visitors to arrive by foot, bike or public transport and to avoid waste by bringing reusable cups and bottles for drink.

The festival will take place from 10am to 4pm, for more details about the event visit petersfieldcan.org/projects/eco-fair-2024 or look for Petersfield Eco Fair on Facebook.
