A local fruit tree initiative is back and with more trees than ever ready for planting this season.

The Petersfield Climate Action Network (PeCAN) has managed to raise funds to supply 700 fruit and nut trees, each one costs £12.50 and comes with a stake and instructions on how to plant.

According to PeCAN, these trees usually cost between £25 to £35, but thanks to their partners you can buy them at a subsidised price.

If you collect your order from Petersfield Community Garden you will also benefit from the group’s ‘Festival of Trees’. Where members offer free expert advice, planting, pruning and training demonstrations and activities for children.

Orders for fruit trees are now open and collections will take place at pick up points in Alton, Liphook, Petersfield and Rowlands Castle on Saturday, February 22. PeCAN asks that you order a maximum of five fruit trees per household.
