Sixth form students at a Frensham school which supports pupils with learning challenges have triumphed on A-Level results day.

An impressive 94 per cent of students at More House School got an A-Level pass or Level 3 BTEC equivalent while 52 per cent were C grades or higher.

A good 93 per cent of applicants also secured a university place with 73 per cent getting into their first choice.

The results are superb given 71 per cent of More House Year 13 students are the subject of Education, Health and Care plans that recognise significant difficulties with learning.

Dyslexia, developmental language disorder, attention weakness and other special education needs are some of the challenges faced by students with headmaster, Jonathan Hetherington, praising the “ambition and tenacity” of students.

He also thanked their specialist therapists and teachers, and identified “high aspiration for curriculum and progress, and expert classroom teaching” as being essential for their success.
