A COUNCILLOR has called for more “transparency” after querying a link between an architect and Petersfield Town Council.
The council accepted a free 16-page ‘initial ideas report’ from AWW, which has offices in London, Bristol and Plymouth, into how the toilet block at Heath Pond could be refurbished or rebuilt.
It was reviewed last Thursday by the Grounds Committee but councillor Louise Bevan claimed PTC should have approached additional firms.
She also asked why PTC seemed reluctant to involve the Petersfield Society but her concerns were not shared with committee chairman Lesley Farrow saying: “When someone offers their services for free, you should take it up.”
The report was produced by a relative of a PTC worker as a gift to Petersfield having previously lived in the town.
