A concert season at St Thomas-on-The Bourne Church has raised more than £3,000 for local charities.

The money will be divided between Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, the stained-glass window restoration at the church and the Bourne parish choirs summer tour fund for 2025.

In the first concert in the series, directed by Jordan Theis, director of music. The choirs performed music they had sung on their Paris tour in August.

A week later, James Harrison led the Alumni Choir, a small group of former choristers, in a selection of solo, choral and instrumental solos.

At the end of September, Nickola Sharkey, an internationally renowned soprano. Performed a selection of songs ranging from Haydn and Debussy to Irish folk-songs, accompanied on piano and organ by her husband Brian Cotterill.

Entry to all the concerts were free but audiences made generous donations. The choir’s next big performance will be Fauré's Requiem on November 16.
