A former geography teacher at Amery Hill School in Alton has been jailed for two years for online child sex offences.
Calum Lacey, 33, of Station Road, Southampton, was sentenced at Southampton Crown Court on January 19 after admitting intentionally communicating with a teenage girl aged under 16 – via Telegram, Wickr and Discord – to send sexual messages and encourage her to do so between October 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021.
He also admitted intentionally causing or inciting a girl aged under 16 to engage in sexual activity, through online conversations with another teenager between March 1 and July 31, 2020.
Acting Det Sgt Heather Tack said: “Lacey was in a privileged position of trust as a teacher in the Alton area, yet he encouraged teenage girls to send him sexual messages online.”
Lacey, arrested in March 2021 and charged on November 1 last year, joined Amery Hill in September 2017.
Headteacher Steve Mann said Lacey had not worked there since 2021 and the two girls involved were not Amery Hill pupils.
