Heavy showers and strong winds are expected to build in Hampshire and Surrey into Thursday – with flood alerts in place in southern areas.
Storm Gerrit has brought gusts of 50 to 60mph to the south coast and heavy rain from the west for most of the UK on Wednesday afternoon, with the Met Office warning travel disruptions are likely.
A yellow weather warning is currently in place for the south coast, with some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport deemed likely by the Met Office until 6pm on Wednesday.
Flood alerts are in place in the Meon Valley and southern parts of East Hampshire.
Scattered, blustery showers are forecast to continue into Thursday, perhaps merging into longer spells of rain through the evening and overnight. The maximum temperature will be 12 °C.
Friday is forecast to be breezy with scattered showers and sunny spells, with winds easing later giving a chilly night.
It will become cloudy and breezy through Saturday with rain overnight. Sunny spells and blustery showers are forecast Sunday.
