A DITCHAM Park pupil has been rewarded for pushing the envelope as his dream of a hi-tech Christmas has earned him a national award.

Year Five pupil Ben (surname withheld) won top prize in a national Christmas Card design competition run by the Royal Academy of Engineering.

His vision of a hi-tech sleigh with a digital interface and AI-controlled reindeers tied in perfectly with the “Santa’s Robotic Christmas” theme.

The image will become the RAE’s official Christmas card and will be sent to the Royal Family and Fellow of the Academy.

Ben will also receive a personalised set of cards featuring his design while his school will receive £250 to enhance engineering education.

Ditcham is proud of its innovative STEAM curriculum which blends the creative arts with hands-on science and Ben’s creation really does showcase this.
