A PLANNING application for alterations to Bordon's Chase Community Hospital was discussed by Whitehill Town Council last week.
Plans are in place for a £2.9m redevelopment of the hospital, to include a new car parking area to provide an extra 23 spaces, bringing the total up to 80, and a new entrance to the GP surgeries to the north of the building. This will facilitate the different opening times of the hospital and surgery and give GPs' patients a dedicated entrance. This entrance will comprise a new outside door, a ramp and a handrail.
The town council's planning committee discussed the application on November 18, when it voted to submit no objections to the scheme.
Because it was a planning matter, they were restricted to discussing the application for the entrance and the car park, not the overall plans to redevelop the hospital.
The NHS is not obligated to submit plans for the internal redevelopment of the site, in Conde Way, which will account for the vast majority of the works.
