A new series of outdoor ‘sound baths’ has launched at Alice Holt Forest – run by a qualified sound therapist with a unique perspective on the use of sound for deep relaxation, Jez Smith.
Sound baths are an immersive, full-body meditative experience in which those in attendance are exposed to soothing and calming sounds, in turn promoting deep relaxation and leaving people feeling refreshed and grounded.
Jez, who has significant hearing loss, has developed a multi-sensory approach to sound baths that invites participants to embark on a journey of self-discovery, relaxation, and healing – releasing the stresses of everyday life.
He combines the sound of instruments with the natural elements of the forest to create a “sonic tapestry” to sooth and relax the mind and body.
Jez, who lives in Haslemere, already runs twice-monthly sessions at St Mark’s Church in Upper Hale – but is also hosting regular outdoor sound bath sessions on selected Fridays this summer, just a short walk from the Alice Holt Forest Activity Centre.
These will be held on: June 16, 30, July 7, September 8 and 29. For more information or to book a session, see: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/641981593227
