Katie Sweeney, practice manager for Downie & Gadban, has been awarded 2022’s highest mark for the part associate legal practice management examination by the Institute of Legal Finance and Management (ILFM).
Katie said: “It was a massive surprise to hear I was receiving an award for achieving the highest pass mark on the exam.
“I completed 11 assignments prior to the exam, which was challenging alongside the day job, so I’m really happy my efforts have been recognised.”
Katie received her award at the VIP annual awards lunch at the RAF Club in London, accompanied by her Downie & Gadban colleague and a partner in the firm, Julian De Giovanni. The event marked the first time the awards lunch had been held since before the Covid-19 pandemic. The award was presented by Paul Philip, chief executive of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Julian said: “We have a track record of supporting staff through their qualifications and there is nothing better than seeing our people excel when given the opportunity. Katie has worked hard on her course over many months, and it’s paid off.”
