There’s a real treat for ale drinkers this weekend as they’ll be taken on a UK tour without leaving East Hampshire.
Forget the Oasis reunion: the biggest return of the year is taking place near Bordon as the second Oakhanger Beer Festival begins this Friday evening.
The two-day festival in aid of the village hall will feature a superb range of carefully selected ales from around the country along with lagers and cider.
“We will be continuing our popular theme from last year, where we allowed people to tour the UK through a range of beers from every region of the country,” said co-organiser, Alex Tucker.
“And if you’re not a beer drinker then there’s no problem, as there will be prosecco, and a selection of wine from the award-winning Oakhanger Vineyard.”
While it’s a bit early for an Oak-toberfest, visitors will find a variety of food vans if they get hungry while a range of soft and non-alcoholic drinks will be available.
Live music will also be served by Alton music legends the Kings Pond Shanty Men and mod covers band The Junction. Elvis will also make an appearance on Saturday by the fantastic Key Lime Pie bring the curtain down.
Tickets are £12.50 from www.oakhangervillagehall.org.uk to include a souvenir pint glass and the first drink.
All proceeds will be ploughed back into the venue to meet its annual running costs or make improvements, with the hall being the focal point of the village.
