The Fernhurst community is reeling after its recreation ground was the site of an attempted robbery on the evening of October 18. 

At some point in the night a vehicle attempted to ram raid the tractor shed at Fernhurst Recreation Ground. 

The shed’s corrugated pull-down door was heavily damaged, as well as the wall.

The team at Fernhurst Pavilion said in a Facebook post: “We would be very interested to receive any information related to this incident, particularly around a red vehicle which must be showing fairly considerable damage to its rear end.

“We are all volunteers, working to provide great sports, leisure and social facilities for the local community, so this sort of criminal activity is both pointless and exasperating. 

“Please help us track them down.”
