A landmark scheme has passed its first examination as plans for a new community health hub in Bordon have been given a provisional all-clear.
The decision by EHDC planners has been called a “key milestone” by the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company as it looks to bring a host of health services together under one roof in the town centre.
With permission for the five-storey building beside The Shed granted, the WBRC is continuing talks with health service providers with a view to formalising legal arrangements.
The hope is that building work will begin early next year and the first services will be offered to patients in late 2026, with the space providing “ample room for expansion” as the population grows.
But not everyone in the town shares their enthusiasm, with a Save The Chase Hospital campaign still growing and the Forest Surgery raising eyebrows with plans to build a new pharmacy within their grounds.
