Hampshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a report of an assault in Church Crookham.

Officers received a report that a woman in her 40s had been assaulted by a man known to her between 11pm on Saturday, January 4 and 1am on Sunday, January 5.

The incident took place near a stream behind Wickham Place in Church Crookham. The woman had suffered bruising to her eye and legs.

Police are still trying to piece together the exact circumstances of what happened and would like to speak with witnesses.

As part of the police’s enquiries, a 21-year-old man from Fleet was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been bailed with conditions, pending further enquiries.
