A warrant was issued for the arrest of Umberto Domineco Schramm, a 37-year-old German national thought to be living in Wembley, after he failed to attend a hearing at Staines Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Mr Schramm faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving while more than twice the legal drink-drive limit and high on cocaine, following the fatal crash on May 31, 2019.
Frances Filby, who was in her 70s, died in hospital the day after a collision between her Ford Fiesta and Mr Schramm’s Mitsubishi Outlander on the B3001 Farnham Road between Seale Road and Fulbrook Lane.
Mr Schramm was also taken to hospital with serious injuries following the crash.
It is alleged Mr Schramm caused Mrs Filby’s death by driving dangerously on the B3001, and without due care and attention.
Police say he was found to have 160 microgrammes (mg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, above the legal limit of 80mg, as well as 272mg of Benzoylecgonine, the main metabolite of cocaine, in 100 millilitres of blood – above the legal limit of 50mg.
