SURREY Police is appealing for the public’s help after a man was pushed into a car and driven to the Hogs Back and abandoned.
It is thought the incident happened on Saturday, January 30, between 9pm and 10pm.
In particular, officers would like to talk to a man and woman who found the young man and gave him a lift from the lay-by on the A31 going towards Farnham, back to Guildford at around 10pm.
Investigating officer DC Kerry Plumb says “I’d like to make it clear these people certainly aren’t in any trouble. We want them to help us understand more about the circumstances. If this was you, please get in touch.”
Officers are also asking members of the public to come forward if they witnessed anything suspicious in the area around Clover Road, Guildford, at around 9pm the same evening. Of particular interest is a grey car, possibly a Nissan Juke or similar.
Anyone who was driving in that area and has a dashcam or helmet cam, or who lives in the area and has a video doorbell or CCTV, is asked to check their footage from between 8.50pm and 9.15pm on Saturday, January 30 and get in touch if you can pick out such a vehicle or anything out of the ordinary.
DC Plumb added: “This relates to an incident that we don’t believe poses any wider threat to the community but we hope that the public will be able to provide some vital pieces of information to assist us in piecing together our enquiries.”
Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact Surrey Police using the live chat function on the Surrey.police.uk website, or by private message on social media, quoting reference PR/45210010166.
